Beginning Quilt Class

By far the most popular and fulfilling class we offer, the beginning quilt class is a well-rounded class, teaching everything from basic rotary cutting to strip piecing to hand applique.  Vicky Lawrence will teach you fabric selection on Saturday, January 30.  On this day, you will choose your fabrics and notions.  The first sewing class is Saturday, February 13 with classes following on Saturdays, March 13, May 8, June 12, June 26,  and August 14.  The last class features an old-fashioned quilting bee with a potluck dinner.  Class fee is $80.  Text is $15, a new spiral bound book written by Vicky.  Classes begin at 10:30 and usually run until 4:00.

Machine Quilting

Delores Rieck is great fun and full of energy teaching this class.  You will learn to straight line quilt and free motion quilt using you regular sewing machine.  No special machine required.  Class is Saturday, February 27, from 10:30-4:00.  Class fee is $35, includes a practice panel and text.

                   $5 Finishing Quilt Class

This class offers the opportunity for a little extra help in completing the $5 quilt of 2009.  The demonstration   in December was a little overwhelming, so we are offering this hands on class to help you tackle your quilt.  Helen is extremely calm and patient and will help you figure out the shortcuts to finishing your quilt.  Class is Saturday, January 23, from 10:30-4:00. Class fee is $20.

Mystery Quilt Club

Barb and Norma are fantastic when you have the two of them together.  They are working on the fine details that will make this class a blast.  Sorry, no picture available, but you will learn a multitude of techniques while making your project with five fabrics of your choice in five months.  Class is $75, including text.  Class will start Saturday, February 6, with class on March 6, April 3, May 1 and June 5.

Machine Embroidery Club

Jane Anderson will help you become more familiar with your embroidery machine, while making this “Holiday Redwork” wallhanging.  You don’t have to make it in red, you can use the color of your choice.  You will need to bring your embroidery machines to class.  Class will be on Wednesdays, March 24, April 28 and May 26, or Saturdays, March 27, April 24 and May 29 from 10:30-4:00.  Class fee is $50.  Text is $43.95.

UFO Thursdays

Come sew with us any Thursday.  Bring your own project, pick your own table, and get away from the phone, husbands, kids, etc.  You’ll be surprised at how much you get accomplished.  We are here to answer any questions that arise.  This is a free service provided by the Quilt Connection.  We can order lunch or you can bring a sack lunch.  Bring a friend and have twice the fun.
