Introduction to Free Motion Quilting

Objective of this Class: With your domestic sewing machine, you can create heirloom quilts. This beginner class will cover topics ranging from marking your quilt, batting choices, pinning your quilt, working with stencils, free motion fills, grid work, to alternate ways to transfer designs to your quilt tops. Learn to pin your quilt and prepare it for quilting. Then dive in and practice free-motion stitch in the ditch, quilting loops, curves, and straight lines, all using your home sewing machine.

Hexified Panel Quilt 2-Day Workshop

A Hexified Panel Quilt is the result of experimenting with and merging several techniques that use 60 degree triangles sewn into kaleidescopic hexies, creating a new hybrid design utilizing fabric panels. What appears challenging can be accomplished with a simple process and no Y-seams. Part1 guides you through cutting and streamlined assembly of the units. Your homework between classes to to sew and pin together all of your hexie units. Part 2, designing your color flow around the seventh panel and top construction.

Japanese Jigsaw Class

Though it looks complex, Japanese Jigsaw is easy to piece. Using fat quarters or precut 10in or 5in squares and a single template, the interesting blocks can be sewn with straight seams only. Finished sizes: 64in x 70in or 54in square
